Spring has nearly Sprung!

It is the last day of winter and hasn't the weather made a point of showing that winter is not over yet! I am sure it is snowing somewhere because today was absolutely freezing!

Anyway, I have been busy printing out photos and organising kits for the Chookscraps Retreat! I still have had some time to scrap and I have decided to concentrate on WA photos from last year's trip (finally). Here are the first of the layouts that I have completed (of course they are for challenges - Scrapbooking 4 Less!

Bingo with a Twist
I have decided that Perth is the city of statues, because it seems everywhere you turn there is a statue somewhere in the CBD! Here is Jan and I Meeting and Greeting some outside St Martins Centre.
Meanwhile, over at the Hen House (Chookscraps of course) ... Jan has organised a very interesting swap - we swap a photo, scrap it and send the layout to the lucky recipient. I got Kim and this is the layout that I completed for her.

Idol is up to the Final Encore

... and I made it to the final 10!

The final encore challenge is based on a sketch, needed to have a celebration theme and two different types of stickers. Here is my entry:

... Meanwhile at Scrabooking 4 Less, I completed the Chinese Whispers challenge and the Sketch Recipe Challenge. Here is what I came up with:

Chinese Whispers: I took 3 photos, 1 cardstock and 2 pps, lace and chipboard titles. I added chipboard shapes, rubons, buttons and a journalling block.

Another weekend closer WA ... we are definately on the countdown now!

Weekend of Scrapping

Another weekend has passed and more scrapping has been done. Here are the layouts/card that I completed:

Scrapbooking Outback 4 Products Challenge

Chookscraps Cybercrop Layouts

It is nearly the end of August and September (and spring) are just around the corner. That means that Chookscraps September Retreat is slowly creeping up. I am now busily making my kits and deciding on what photos I will be taking with me to scrap. I am also looking forward to a family visit (including Christopher and Taylah) to Gundagai. I will have the camera surgically attached to my hand while they are here. Lots to look forward to!

A Scratchin' in the Hen House

Another week has past and I have done a couple of challenges for Scrapbooking 4 Less. I managed to finish the "Choose Your Own Layout" and Jan's Monthly Sketch Challenge:

Choose Your Own Layout Challenge

Jan's Monthly Sketch Challenge

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, Chookscraps are having their monthly cybercrop this weekend. There will be lots of challenges, games and chatting going on in the hen house - it is always a good weekend with plenty of scrapping and chatting.

Tonight, I am off to Gundagai Public School's trivia night. If you are interested and around the Gundagai area, it starts at 7 pm, down at the services club! I believe there are a few spare tables left. Cost is $10. Hope to see you down there!

Scrapping Challenges Galore!

It has been a couple of weeks of great scrapping. In that time, I have completed two mini albums and some great challenges. I also managed to get over to Canberra to the Craft and Quilt show on the weekend and picked up some gorgeous goodies, which should start appearing on future layouts fairly soon.

Scrapping 4 Less - Here is the last cybercrop layout and the 3rd birthday layout challenge that I have completed.

Scrapping Outback - Mini Masters Challenge. Scrapping Outback have a fantastic competition on at the moment. There are 3 layout challenges and a large mini album challenge that need to be completed by the end of the month. If you signed up for the competition, you have until 31 August 2009 to get your entries done. If you didn't sign up, have a go for fun because they are great!

Challenge 1 - Monochromatic Challenge

Challenge 2 - Double Layout, outdoors theme

Challenge 4 - Single or Double Layout using the SO Mini Masters Kit

Challenge 3 is the 8 x 8 inch Mini Album, which can be viewed in the SO gallery (http://www.scrappingoutback.com.au/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2533). I also completed last month's 4 Products Creative Challenge. I really am enjoying creating layouts with only 4 products, it makes you think outside the square.

Chookscraps - last but not least is my Idol entry for Round 12 (Punk Rock). In this challenge, you had to use stamping, doodling and painting.

Blink and You Miss Them!

It is nearly the end of the school holidays, which means that a new term starts on Monday. The really good thing about this term is that it is a short term (for Jan and I anyway) and there is a little bonus at the end of the term - we are off to Perth for the Chookscraps Retreat!

I have made a little slideshow of some layouts that I have completed while I have been on holidays. Some of them are some classes that are available on Anna's Craft Cupboard blog. Others have been for challenges and cybercrops. I also did a quick scraplift using the new Kaisercraft Loire Valley range of patterned papers - I just couldn't resist it!

A Weekend Full of Scrapping and Chatting!

It was certainly a great weekend of scrapping over at Chooks. Here are the layouts that I completed for each challenge:

Challenge 1: Use a square photo, chipboard title and numbers.

Challenge 2: Use ribbon and ric-rac, distressing and a hand made embellishment.

Challenge 3: Jan's Sketch.

Challenge 4: Make a card that has a picture or photo on it.

DT Challenge: I was challenged to do this by one of the DT members because I put up the first criteria for the challenge. Challenge was: use an A4 photo or bigger, a doiley, two types of bling and a frame.

You still have time to enter the Chookscraps Cybercrop as entries do not close until Midnight tomorrow night (WA time so that is an extra 2 hours for those living in the Eastern States).

This is a Jan's challenge that she has put up on Scrapbooking 4 Less: Use 1 piece of patterned paper and a scrap piece of cardstock. I have scrapped the girls from last year's Chooks Retreat.

That's all from me today. Until next time, happy scrapping!
